    I am a reseller of this product in Ireland and the UK. I have tested the original USB and F Drobo and found the speeds to be good and attended an event yesterday where we had new and old hooked up to a DroboShare and USB speeds came close to 30-40Mbps
    I recomend Mac users I sell to to go to the Drobo.com site and download the older dashboard available from the support tab as this clears up a lot of possible issues. Before you rebuild I suggest trying the older firmware and let me know if it helps.

    Ray, perfect article, exactly what I was looking for. I’m getting the EXACT same behavior and am taking the same steps as you to debug, working through it now. Drobo support hasn’t been that helpful, though they did send me a new one to try to eliminate any hardware variables. Support’s main concern is to tell me that the hardware is not the issue, but is not exactly helping me determine what the root cause could be (incompatibilities with my drives, OS X, etc.). Shoot me an email, would love to share findings.
