I had a problem with updating the firmware while connected to it through Drobo Dashboard, so Drobo support sent me the firmware and gave me the instructions for manual upgrade.

Unfortunately, Drobo Dashboard could not recognize the file they sent as a firmware file.

Any of you experience similar problems? Do you know where on Drobo's site can I download the latest firmware myself? Drobo Support response speed is horrible.

PS: Has anyone of you tried connecting the Drobo to a TimeCapsule? I am getting dropped connections to Drobo after several hours of mounting the drive through TimeCapsule.

@Joe - the read/write speeds have been similar since the firmware upgrade. They slowed a bit since I wrote the post and I added more data (still <50%) although I still see 30MB/s each way at times. I'm more likely to get 25MB/s or so with reads tending to be a bit more. Unlike your experience, I'd say my read speeds tend to be higher.

@Jon - I have all 1TB WD "green drives" in the Drobo. Looks like the reboot issue isn't unique to you. There's some discussion about it in the forums at www.drobospace.com (owner reg required unfortunately)

Ray, can you double check your read speeds? My writes are now at 27MB/Sec on FW800, but my reads are at 15MB/sec after the firmware update.

I just bought a Drobo V2 with four of the new Seagate 1.5TB drives. The stupid thing reboots every 15 minutes whether I'm transferring files or not. How lame is that?

Do you have any 1.5TB drives in your Drobo?
