I had expected consolidating all my contact lists to be a hassle. I wanted everything moved to my MS accounts, rather than continue the iPhone method of configuring multiple accounts and letting the phone present a consolidated view. Read the rest »
Nokia Lumia 928 Windows Phone: First Impressions
I just added the Nokia Lumia 928 to The Quest. It’s a Windows 8 Phone (or is that Windows Phone 8 phone?). My primary phone is an iPhone 4S. This isn’t replacing that, at least not yet. Officially it’s replacing a terrible Android phone on a second line. I’m new to Windows Phone, of any version, although I use (and love) a Surface RT and run Windows 8 on my desktop. This article are my first impressions after a couple days. I ordered online due to the pricing, but picked [...] Read the rest »

Here's the setup, completed on a Sunday afternoon. Read the rest »

That’s when Google shutters Google Reader which will no doubt cause a decrease in subscribers and some chaos all by itself. I’m going with the native WordPress RSS feed, rather than be at the mercy of another service again. I already updated the RSS subscription link on the top of this blog so you can update your subscription if [...] Read the rest »
WordPress and Other Security Concerns
There’s been a lot of press recently about increased attacks on WordPress sites, and I run WordPress. At first I considered it BS since it seemed ike a standard brute force attack. Not that I didn’t think attacks were going on, a view of logs on my own small servers shows attacks all the time. But Brian Krebs published an article about it and I figure he has a better BS detector than me in these matters. So maybe there has been an increase. I figure I’m pretty safe, I [...] Read the rest »
