CES is over and MacWorld is about to begin. Can’t say anything at CES caught my attention. Stuff was just bigger, thinner and less expensive. The big news last week seemed to be Warner’s move to Blue-Ray and that was before CES.

I installed Ubuntu 7.04 under Parallels back in April and upgraded it recently. I run VMware Fusion on my MacBook which I was traveling with over Thanksgiving so I decided to install Ubuntu 7.10 under VMware to compare with Parallels. The upgrade to Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) couldn’t have been any easier. I’m still using a nearly default installation of Ubuntu 7.04 so I just went into Update Manager and made sure I installed all the waiting updates. Then I rebooted Ubuntu just to be safe. I finally got around to updating my Parallels 2.5 installation to the latest Parallels 3. Parallels 3 has been out awhile and I’ll be installing build 4560. I’ll be upgrading Parallels on my iMac and have 5 virtual machines configured. I don’t have Boot Camp installed on my iMac.
